The Human Resources Director supports the organization's business objectives through strategic human resources functions. The Human Resources Director is responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits, employee relations, and provides continuing input as to organizational culture.
Develops organizational strategies by identifying and researching human resource issues and direction, in line with organizational objectives.

Implements human resource strategies by establishing HR department accountabilities, including recruitment, employment processing, compensation, health & welfare benefits, training & development, records management, safety & health, and employee training, development and retention.
Supports management by providing human resources advice, counsel and decisional recommendations.
Administer all company sponsored benefits including benefit program design, fielding benefits-related inquiries, and collaborating with finance for annual insurance renewals.
Maintain and organize department records, ensuring complete accuracy and confidentiality ensuring compliance of all documents and administering record retention.
Communicate changes in the organization's personnel policies and procedures and to ensure compliance with such policies and procedures.
Optimize the use of the Human Resource information system.
Manage the recruitment function with a particular emphasis on developing targeted job descriptions, competitive compensation packages, and fostering a cooperative approach between the HR group and the hiring managers in the interview process all within the context of an affirmative action/EEO environment.
Assess and anticipates HR related needs of business. Partner across departments to deliver value added service to management and employees that reflect business objectives.
Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation, ensuring compliance with all laws applicable to human resources. Identifies legal requirements and government reporting laws/regulations affecting human resource functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance, including DOL/ERISA/Qualified Plan testing and compliance functions.
Oversees the exit interview process to determine reasons behind separations and recommends any corrective actions to management.
Coaches managers and leaders on human resources and professional development issues.
Performs other duties as assigned.

This position manages all employees of the Human Resources department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department
Required Education and Experience
7+ years of supervisory Human Resources experience and management, preferably within the construction industry, with particular skill in addressing ADA and FMLA matters, state and federal agency complaints, inquiries and actions.
Experience with the dynamics of family owned and operated enterprises along with strong organizational, presentation and interpersonal skills within all levels of management.
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology or related field; Advanced Degree a plus.
PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
