The Public Works Roads division is looking for a person who has significant background in roads maintenance/construction and has a passion for working on large scale projects, planning and coordinating programs. The incumbent is responsible for assisting with varied managerial and administrative support; providing oversight of maintenance programs and work processes; participating in the development of short and long term work plans; assisting with budget preparations; development, design and coordination of roadway and stormwater projects; quality control of maintenance work; providing analytical and technical support to maintenance staff; coordinating with other County departments and outside agencies; and performing supervision of program staff, consultants and contractors. The incumbent works collaboratively with the Maintenance and Operations Manager to ensure that the mission and goals of the division are attained. Work assignments are received with little technical instruction with considerable latitude for independent judgment while working within the frameworks of established guidelines. Work is reviewed by the supervisor for compliance with established policies and objectives and is evaluated through reports, conferences, and the results obtained.
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, Construction management, or related field and 4 years of experience road maintenance/constructions and operations experience, with at least one year of supervisory or lead experience; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and education which is equivalent to 8 years of experience and provides the applicant with the desired skills, knowledge and ability required to perform the work.
