The Division Controller will have overall responsibility for the effective, efficient and ethical administration of the corporate division’s day-to-day business affairs, in accordance with SpawGlass policy, with specific responsibility for divisional accounting, financial reporting and reducing the division’s exposure to risk arising from the execution of its contractual obligations. Reporting:The division controller reports directly to the vice president of finance and works as a partner with the division presidents on all matters related to financial and risk management. Responsibilities:Supervise Division accounting personnel.Direct and coordinate the accounting, budgeting and other financial operations of assigned Division.Timely and accurately prepare financial and business reports as required by chief financial officer and division president.Together with the division president, project managers, superintendents and other project personnel deemed necessary, conduct monthly reviews of all projects in progress.Assess, develop and maintain a strong focus on risk management, including interrelated areas of contract language, financing, bonding, insurance, etc.To operations personnel, provide practical advice aimed at maximizing profit of the Division balanced with minimizing the business risk assumed in pursuit of profit.Regularly travel to Division office and jobsite locations.SpawGlass is an EEO Employer
Requirements:Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with 5 - 7 years construction accounting / management experience in financial and managerial reporting as well as technical knowledge; MBA and/or CPA preferredStrong understanding and thorough knowledge of general accounting principles with an emphasis on construction accounting methods, including the application of general accounting theory and GAAPComputer proficiency and usage to include Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel), experience with various accounting system and strong aptitude to learn new systems10 key by touchLift up to 25 lbs
