Position Title: Operating Engineer II – Expo Center

The Operating Engineer II operates, maintains and repairs all HVACR related equipment, potable water piping and other mechanical equipment used in the daily operation of the Expo Center (Expo). Supports clients of Expo by providing temporary installation of utilities as needed for event support. Works with Event Managers to ensure all show related needs are met. The Operating Engineer II is responsible for mechanical and electrical repairs and preventive maintenance that require a Limited Maintenance Electrical License (LME). The Operating Engineer II works under the direction of the Operations Manager.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or GED; minimum of two years experience as an operating engineer in a large public events facility; or any combination of education and experience, which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the job. Experience must include work-related tasks in plumbing, refrigeration, heating and cooling and electrical. Must possess a Limited Maintenance Electrician License (LME). Applicant must possess or have the ability to obtain an EPA Universal Refrigeration Certification, Brazing Certification, Backflow Certification and CPR certification. A valid state driver's license is required. Must be available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays, as required.
