The tentative date of starting employment is August 2019. The appointment will be in any relevant department based on the candidates' background. These positions are part of the search for faculty members in thematic areas aligned with the research thrusts of UTA's Strategic Plan 2020: Bold Solutions | Global Impact. We seek applicants who will strongly promote interdisciplinary teaching and research within one of the strategic themes of Sustainable Urban Communities, Global Environmental Impact, and Data-Driven Discovery. The key objective is to hire faculty members with outstanding qualifications, who share the University's core values of high standards of excellence in teaching, innovative and collaborative research, and service, combined with fostering an open and inclusive environment.
Duties include building and leading a team of Ph.D. researchers and post docs, developing externally funded research programs that yield top-tier publications, and developing research partnerships nationally and internationally. The successful candidate must have demonstrated expertise in research areas cited above and a record of research accomplishments including publications. This individual is expected to lead the university’s effort to establish a research cluster within the Center for Advanced Construction Materials.
Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree in a engineering, science or related discipline appropriate to the research focus of the center. The candidate must also have a demonstrated record of accomplishment in independent research projects, collaborating on research partnerships, and working to mentor others in research efforts.
